The WINGWAY project is a collaborative initiative focused on the optimization of logistics operations using drones to establish a selective logistics planning and operation system. Its main objective is to integrate unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS) with multimodal distribution networks, researching fixed-wing UAS with vertical take-off, route planning tools and artificial intelligence. In addition, the project seeks to validate a proof of concept of VTOL UAS, developing and prototyping adaptive solutions to the Aragonese logistics model. WINGWAY also focuses on environmental impact, seeking to reduce the footprint of CO2 and other emissions during express and selective shipments. Its focus includes the development of last-mile logistics and the expansion of multimodal transport to autonomous aerial vehicles, thus contributing to the rural economy through the creation of optimized vertiport infrastructures.
