The management of Operation Crossing the Strait (OPE) is a challenge every year for the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras. In addition to the uncertainty about the exact flow of people and vehicles arriving at the port, there are logical deviations from the theoretical planning of the pre-established schedules for ships. That is why it is very complex to predict in advance the level of filling of the port plots that serve for the process of reception and transit of vehicles through the port. Given the scenario described above, the objective of this project has been to simulate port operations during the PEO for the identification of conflicts and bottlenecks. The system has been able to predict conflicts in advance and automatically propose solutions to them, thus providing prescriptive capabilities. Likewise, it has offered the user metrics and key performance indicators, as a dashboard, through data analysis.
