The new logistics

The pandemic, the supply crisis caused by the conflict in Ukraine, inflation, market volatility, climate change... For several years now, we have been immersed in a context of uncertainty. A combination of factors that are accelerating the processes of technological transformation in many sectors to adapt to this ever-changing situation. This phenomenon is being experienced intensely in the logistics sector.

Logistics has been able to digitize in record time, aligning itself with the takeoff of the digitized and automated Industry 4.0, a key aspect to reduce bottlenecks in the supply chain. The need to be closer to the consumer, both from the production and distribution perspectives, demands shorter, more efficient supply chains with a lower environmental impact. This demand is one to which technology and digitization must respond.

In this new equation of a more decentralized, close, and agile logistics, multimodality of means and transport platforms also has a lot to contribute. It allows cargo to seamlessly transition from a ship to a train and from a train to a truck.
